With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I figured why not talk about things we are thankful for. For me personally, my family, friends, colleagues, and clients are some of the many things I am thankful for. With that, I am also very thankful for where I live so I wanted to capture reasons why locals are thankful to be living in Rhode Island.
For starters, the beauty of Rhode Island is absolutely breathtaking. This is emulated through the plethora of bodies of water that can be found all throughout the state and the beaches. This includes reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and the largest of all, the Atlantic ocean. What makes Rhode Island such a unique place is that you are also blessed with the same rural charms of fall foliage and homes decorated that you would find in an inland state. Everywhere you look, and throughout every season, I find my decision to establish a family here reassuring. This is where I pull my motivation from to help others find their forever homes here!
Admittedly, it is very common for people to move here from elsewhere and never feel the desire to move away. There is just enough of everything for almost everyone! Historically, Rhode Island has been a long-reigning leader in the percentage of Catholics in the nation. Even if you aren’t a particularly religious person, this fact does make for some pretty festive natives when it comes to the holiday season. Community is huge in Rhode Island. Throughout the summer and into the winter and fall, there is always something going on in your town or the one next door to stop by and hit a food truck or two. There are usually competitions for the best-decorated houses during Halloween and Christmas, too. This makes for a fun family trip together driving around trying to decide for yourselves who has the most “holiday spirit.”
Food. Do I even have to elaborate?! When it comes to finding good food, look no further. The limitless options of delectable eats all over this state are one of the things that locals love. From the year-round fresh seafood to the unmatched Italian restaurants that line the streets, there is something for everyone. This is certainly one of the biggest things that I am thankful for living in Rhode Island. Larger than just good food is sharing it with family. Family outings are a pivotal part of Rhode Island culture. Whether this is just sharing a meal at home or going out on the town to explore something new, the family roots here run deep.
